Update #3 : Getting Spicy

Hello everyone!

This week we have some real cool updates to share with our guests, and we hope you are just as excited as we are for the upcoming weeks until the Dev-con. Our studio is currently undertaking four ambitious projects, and we finally wish to update you their progress by weekly.

First, we want to introduce our new logo created by the one and only, Daniel!

Next, lets talk about is Roma Invicta. This week, the Project Lead oStaiko has added a special UI, to be able to distinguish buildings and units when you hover over them, allowing for easier overview of the battlefield, and is currently working on Production buildings for the creation of Units, the source of your power in Roma, as well as a major point in the game, Resource gathering, which allows your armies to take shape.

Speaking of taking shape, Castle Defense, has many new artists and programmers working on the concept art and basic mechanics of the game, and let me tell you, the art speaks for itself. The programmers decided to make this game as efficient as possible, rewriting systems to be much more pleasing for the mechanics of the game. CasD team is truly wanting to create a classic game that players can enjoy rather than groan because of the glitches and pesky bugs.

Game Night, had some amazing progress as well, as you may have seen on twitter, the 3D artists have had their hands full creating a smooth, aesthetically pleasing board games and pieces, and a beautiful set of UI to allow you complete control of the games, they’re all excited to show you their most recent additions to the game once they furbish them.

June/July will be our busiest months yet and we look forward to more major leaps and bounds for content. As always, stay tuned for updates!

UPDATE #2: New Kids On the Block

Greetings, we are Lights and ArchVenture.

We are joining InterLight Studios as Community Managers to help out with the social presence of the Studio.

We are not the only ones, along with us comes an army of new coders artists, and other skilled people ready to get their hands dirty with work.

As Community Managers, we will focus on expanding our presence, while at the same time keeping the existing community close knit, as well as we will be helping make structural changes to the Studio to make it more efficient and easy to navigate.

ArchVenture and myself have a lot of experience with developing other Indie Studios, and have worked together on some before, and we plan to make this no different. We hope to work closely with the community to make this a pleasant experience, and to better get in touch with fans, and get things ready for the upcoming game convention.

We have already implemented some changes to the discord side of the studio, including a brand new discord server to help make this transition to the bigger community an easier task. And are planning to create a weekly Dev Update Page, where everyone can easily see progress coming from every individual game being developed.

Interlightstudio.com v2. It is here!

After a lot of blood, sweat, and tears the “revamped” Interlight Studio website is here!

This wasn’t a change we wanted to “rush” and do improperly. We have a 2-server deployment process (Staging/Production) and are using some of the latest web technologies and “best practices” in order to provide a quick and consistent experience to our users.

There has been a lot of work going on “behind the scenes” to make this new website a possibility, but we know that it isn’t finished yet. We welcome your suggestions, feedback, and feature requests.

We are currently working on how to best collect your feedback and turn it into tangible development “issues”. In the meantime, please feel free to jump in our discord server and let us know what you think.

ps: We are also developing an API that will open up many awesome possibilities in the future. You can see a glimpse of this in our “streamers” sidebar widget. This uses our API to get a list of “featured streamers” on our team, and lets you know if they are online and streaming.

My name is Ty and I am the project manager here at Interlight Studio.
I am very excited to share with everyone who has been following our progress this past year.  We have been working very hard and continually make great progress on ToTb with more content coming each week. Gifs, videos, concept art and in-game demos are some of the new things we will be introducing this year.
